Anything really worth doing in our lives will always have an element of fear attached to it.
Fear can be a good thing!
Anything worth doing or something we’ve experienced that caused us fear will always have some fear attached to it if we desire to move forwards.
Take for example positive fears, having a baby, getting married, changing careers, entering a challenging event or creating a new healthy lifestyle. New or past experiences of previous changes can bring up deep fears.
It is our mind suggesting that we tread carefully into the unknown or the known if previously experience something similar, but fear can in fact be good for us. It is our way of questioning whether we really want the new life these changes will bring. It is also a potent reminder that releasing and grieving the past and finding ways to learn how to build on and change the past or to create a new way moving forwards is a necessary part of learning to move forwards.
Fear has a way of throwing us off balance, making us feel uncertain and insecure, but it is not meant to discourage us though. Its purpose is to notify us that we are at the edge of our comfort zone, poised in between the old life and if we choose to move forwards with the fear, a new one. Whenever we face our fear, we overcome those inner obstacles and move into new and life-enhancing territory, both inside and out.
The more we learn to respect and even welcome fear, the more we will be able to feel and listen to its wisdom, wisdom that will let us know that the time has come to move forwards. While comfort with fear is a contradiction to what we have learnt fear to represent, It can help us look at it in a new way.
By learning to honour our fear, recognising its arrival, listening to its intelligence, and respecting it as maybe and opportunity to grow, to seek ways can in fact bring the opportunity of transformation.
Fear can be an inner message from our deepest intelligence that we all have within us, that this feeling of fear could be there to inform us that the change we are contemplating or experiencing is significant. Enabling us to bring about change in our lives and not stay stuck in the old ways that may have caused us to have the fear from something that has or could happen. Or to open up a brand new chapter in our lives – You have choice remember.
Learn to communicate with your fear, dive into its depths to experience a greater understanding of the changes you are considering making. You could do this by sitting quietly in meditation or writing it down. Writing thoughts down, no matter whatever comes up write them down, your worries, your sadness, your excitement, your hopes and desired outcomes is in fact a wonderful way to learn about yourself through the vehicle of fear and to remember that fear almost always comes alongside anything worth doing or changing in your life.
