Fears & Phobias

Fears and phobias can be created from the most unlikely of things but if you live with that fear it can be extremely restrictive. People with phobias often experience unwanted responses to animals, objects, insects, swimming, heights, lifts, escalators and flying. Hypnotherapy can be an effective therapy to alleviate these fears.

The physical response to a fear or phobia is known as a stress response; people often describe their reaction to something like being “paralysed with fear, “having butterflies in my stomach”, “I just want to run away”, “I feel I can’t breathe”.

People with phobias often know their response is irrational, which makes it even harder to accept. “Why am I reacting like this when I know it won’t or can’t hurt me?” is something I hear all the time from my clients who come to see me for treatment of their phobia.

Phobias are displaced fears and because they are not rational they can be altered. Hypnotherapy can treat the fear by safely altering the subconscious behaviour, helping you to move forward with your life free from the restrictive fear or phobia.

Hypnotherapy will help identify the root cause of the phobia and enable you to react to the particular object or situation that you once feared in a calmer more relaxed way when you encounter it in the future.
